Changes to my study programme!
Hello, today I will be talking about what would be the changes that I would make to my career.
It should be mentioned that I am in my third year of Architecture and so far I have liked part of the University.
In the first place, if we talk about the duration of the degree, I think that five and a half years is a good time to be able to learn how dense this degree is, although there are subjects that, according to me, could last longer or be complemented to be able to do a deepening in what is learned.
Secondly, I think that the study plan needs to be adjusted, both in including new subjects, such as one where they teach you to use the tools, both computer and modeling; also so in updating some subjects that are becoming obsolete.
Along with the above, the use of technologies is super practical because it saves you a lot of time, but nobody teaches you how to use these tools, but it is an autonomous job where not all of us reach a good level. In addition, it would be good if the machinery that exists in the university would also be adjusted to everyone's needs, because there are computers that cannot install certain programs because they do not have enough space.
Another thing that could be changed is the infrastructure of the Faculty, since we make a lot of use of the dependencies but unlike other schools we cannot stay working at night because there are no protected or comfortable places to be. It could be improved because in many of them the projectors cannot be used or the connections to electricity are dangerous.
If we talk about teaching methods, in my experience I have come across teachers who are really happy to teach, how there are others who, due to age, use tools that are already becoming obsolete, for this reason it is good to update teachers and train them in teaching directly , don't just choose someone for the amount of titles or research they have. In addition, I think it is very necessary to have buses or programs that allow (and perhaps require) teachers to go on field trips, because that way it is easier to learn this discipline, but that it be a benefit of the university, because many sometimes we have had to pay for the trips ourselves.
I hope that this blog can give an overview of the things that, according to me, need to change or be implemented in the University and, although there are many, it does not mean that the Faculty is the worst in the world, but that it is also a space that can improve, how we also do it within this.
See you!
Hi, I'm also studying architecture, it's my first year and I agree with everything you say!
